T he International Conference “Schostakovich-2006”: Finds
and Discoveries”. This title is explained through contents
of reports. Its greater part consists of finds: recently found
manuscripts of unknown works of Schostakovich; drafts of his
non-realized ideas and of completed works — from earliest to the
latest, never investigated before by researchers; piano transcriptions
and orchestral arrangements of the works by Western classics. A
discovery for audience may be scientific approaches and themes of
reports covering anew the life and works of the composer.
