Born in Barcelona, Feliu Gasull is a composer,
guitarist, and professor of theory and composition
and chamber groups at the Escola Superior de Musica de
Catalunya. He has written more than seventy works for a
variety of musical formations including works for solo
guitar, symphonic, accompaniment and choir music, as
well as music for film and dance. His compositions include
or incorporate elements clearly derived from flamenco and
other popular Mediterranean genres.
Gasull’s music has been described as the coupling of
Manuel de Falla and Paco de Lucia. As a guitarist, Gasull
has performed at the Festival Internacional Andres Segovia, the Festival
de Perelada, the Festival Iberoamericano de Guitarra (Chile), among many
others. |
